Inspiration

I was inspired to build this app after I ran a mile in under 12 minutes last summer, just by pushing myself.

What it does

YapTrack turns your voice into progress so you can stay in the moment of whatever exercise or workout you are doing.

How we built it

I built it using Codex and launching a project in Xcode on my Mac. Also build a web app version in Replit so people who don't have an iPhone can use it.

Challenges we ran into

A lot of challenges were using Xcode for the first time and using Codex for the first time in tandem, and just learning my way around it. Swift UI is also full of challenges that I didn't expect. It's not as easy as JavaScript or TypeScript.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Accomplished to have the ability to save in a workout or a log. We call it a "track", and it works.

What we learned

I learned that I probably should have stuck to a web app for this, but I wanted to challenge myself and build an iOS app that can send to TestFlight.

What's next for YapTrack

Next, we're going to send a TestFlight, push it to the Apple Store, and get our first users. Leggo!
