Inspiration

When I was renovating my own apartment, I had a lot of trouble figuring out how different products would look like in my own living space, especially if those products were from different companies like flooring and furniture.

And I realized that a good solution would be seeing them in mixed reality.

What it does

Xyronis allows home renovation companies and individuals create a version of their products(so far flooring and furniture) viewable in mixed reality. The entire experience is based on web, so users can launch it directly from their computer browser in three clicks and 20 seconds.

How we built it

I used ThreeJS with Rapier engine, built the website with React, used Firebase for database, and used Meshy for AI generation.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest problem is that technology is extremely new, so a lot of the APIs are not really well made. The most annoying issue I faced came with building a good user interface, because different UI frameworks really don't work well with each other. React Three and UIkit for example.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Everybody that I tell about this is fascinated. I told my tennis coach about it and he even asked me to try it out. I have a picture with me and him, he is wearing Quest 3 on a tennis court. I really love that everybody finds this so fascinating and cool.

What we learned

We tested this with lots of users and we got a lot of interesting feedback. We grew our domain knowledge in Mixed Reality itself. We really need to focus and build a finalized product that people will really find useful and people (whether it will be companies or individuals) will pay money for.

What's next for Xyronis

We really want to build a startup, a company that produces a truly revolutionary product that allows people to make a very complicated and unpleasant part of their life a lot easier with the help of Mixed Reality.
