A software that allows teachers to create rooms for students to review each others' work. The teacher creates the room which the students join with a code, then the students upload and review essays.

Inspiration

Wanted to make peer review software

What it does

Teachers create a room, students join, upload their essays, then get a random set of essays to leave comments on, and finally the essays are returned to the students.

How we built it

Backend with spring boot through replit frontend with next and react

Challenges we ran into

Backend would often have to be restarted often and would sometimes start on its own, getting a list of students within a room was hard for some reason, we didn't split up work correctly.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Building the entire backend in spring boot of all things, website looks clean and nice

What we learned

Start earlier, divide work between team members better, communicate more
