Inspiration
From working on political campaigns and in government through Florida DOGE, we have become acutely aware of communications challenges, especially false or malicious narratives that seem to be orchestrated. X has done a great job of making the platform a better place that prioritizes free speech. XPulse will help subscribers, whether individuals or entities, better understand the free speech in which they are engaged and the free speech that may be weaponized against them or used in support of them. This tool will hope those individuals and entities succeed in the communications realm through real-time insights.
What it does
XPulse democratizes public relations (PR) data so that public figures and entities in the public and private sectors can better anticipate PR challenges and understand how they are propagated (i.e., whether or not narratives are spread by bots).
How we built it
We used Grok API, X API, digital ocean droplet, Supabase, and we used real data from X API to represent geolocation. We hosted the website on our own domain.
Challenges we ran into
Making the heat map operate as well as we would like.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We connected a server, implemented beautiful UI, created a database, and implemented Grok API and real-time updates.
What we learned
We learned how we can use X APIs in the future for this project and similar ones.
What's next for Xpulse.buzz
Next, XPulse will have an enhanced heat map, ingest more data to go from a USA focus to a worldwide focus, and then be used as a pilot on a statewide political campaign.
