Inspiration

People today have to make an average of 35,000 decisions every day. They thus suffer and struggle from decision paralysis. Thus, an opportunity existed to create an app that would help people reduce overwhelming life choices to a short list of what works best. This thus gives us the comfort and assurance to lead a more stress-free life.

What it does

The app uses randomness and stochastic processes to suggest answers to life's most important decisions. These include what to eat, what sports to play, and what the outcomes of life can be. We also built a customised watch face that sparks joy whenever a user looks at the watch.

How we built it

Over a sleepless night, we used the Zepp API, the Zeus CLI console, and the Zepp emulator. We also used Figma to create digital assets and prototypes before importing them into the Zepp Watchfacemaker. All the development was underpinned by Javascript.

Challenges we ran into

We originally wanted to develop a mapping powered app that empowered users to track their locations off-the-grid without an active Internet connection. However, we discovered that GPS was a private API that we did not have access to. Hence, we pivoted our idea late in the night, and eventually used other APIs.

What's next for Xplore

We hope we are able to continue building Xplore's geo-tag feature, as we want to enable waypoint tracking and hyperlocal sharing of products.
