Inspiration
Ever since Covid and the age of the modern internet, high school students, university students, or just people in general across the world are finding themselves in what some would say is the loneliness epidemic. One current challenge unaddressed is the difficulty for people to find interesting events and activities going on around them with people just like them. Even in popular social media apps like Facebook, social media communities tend to be anonymous and too large for people to feel comfortable engaging with other people in the group. We wanted our app to help bridge people together in their local communities.
What it does
We developed an event-based social media focused on local communities to improve social interconnectedness of people around the globe.
How we built it
We brainstormed as a team to generate many ideas for problems we are passionate about then we as a consensus narrowed it down to one project we all wanted to work on. After this, we decided what features we needed, created a high-fidelity prototype Figma app to showcase those ideas, and finally finished up with a prototype app that works.

Accomplishments that we're proud of
We completed our first Hackathon and got a prototype of our idea working! We're really proud of how much we learned from this experience.
What we learned
We learned how to work in a team in a fast paced environment creating ideas that can change the world. A lot of our team members learned a bunch of new tools and languages that we can use in our own coding projects.
What's next for XPeerience
There are a few things next for our project. First we want to create a more concrete picture of our mobile app in Figma finished with all our ideas and potential features. Next we want to finish implementing all our envisioned features like filtering by tags and locations, adding a calendar, creating a feed, and generally tidying up the overall app.
