Inspiration

We thought about why Soroban isn't widely used and how we can help. We noticed that people who use Discord like trying new things and are good with technology. That gave us the idea to make a special way for Soroban to work on Discord. This will make more people know about Soroban and feel comfortable using it.

What it does

Soroban x Discord is a payment gateway designed specifically for Discord, primarily used by gamers and various online communities. This payment gateway serves as a tool that enables Users to make payments for Discord products (like nitro and Discord shop) in a wide range of currencies, including both traditional fiat currencies (such as US dollars, euros, etc.) and cryptocurrencies (like Bitcoin, Ethereum, XLM, and others).

How we built it

This is our first time using Soroban so we used the tutorials on the website. This is also our first time creating a payment gateway. The accompanying website is built using Wix. We did our best to make the code as structured and well-written as possible.

Challenges we ran into

Coming up with the idea was easy but the execution turned out to be very difficult. We worked with Soroban for the first time and also created the payment client for the first time. We only found out about this hackathon 10 days prior to the deadline, so time constraint was a challenge as well.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Bhavya and Shobhit are proud of implementing the project idea by creating a bot
  • Shreya is proud of the idea, branding, and no-code website

  • Working with Stellar's awesome smart contract Soroban
  • Read the name very very carefully!
  • Working in a short time frame

What's next for Soroban x Discord

  • Extend our services to Twitch
  • Increased security while handling user data
  • Improving the code quality and eliminating any bugs through beta testing
