Inspiration

As AI agents become autonomous, they need a native economic layer. Traditional credit cards, manual signup forms, and monthly API subscriptions fail for machines. XMesh provides the premium marketplace and commerce hub built directly on top of the official Algorand x402 Payment Facilitator API, allowing AI agents to buy and sell digital services per execution.

What it does

XMesh serves as the Stripe + AWS Marketplace + Vercel for autonomous AI agents:

1. Discovery Bazaar (GET /discovery/resources): A searchable marketplace of pay-per-call APIs with transparent per-execution pricing.
2. x402 4-Step Payment Protocol: $$\text{Settlement Speed} = \frac{\text{Block Finality}}{\text{Network Latency}}$$
   • Challenge (402): Server responds with HTTP 402 + PAYMENT-REQUIRED header.
   • Sign & Retry: Agent signs the challenge payload (PAYMENT-SIGNATURE).
   • Verify & Settle (POST /verify & POST /settle): Facilitator validates signature and settles micro-payment on-chain.
   • Receipt (GET /api/receipt/{txId}): Server returns HTTP 200 OK + PAYMENT-RECEIPT header with SHA-256 payload hash & HMAC signature.
3. Groq AI High-Speed Assistant (llama-3.3-70b-versatile): Real-time streaming assistant with LaTeX math formatting (KaTeX) and RAG context for telemetry, natural language search parsing, and post-payment breakdowns.
4. Multi-Chain Support (GET /supported): Algorand Mainnet (2.8s finality), Base, Solana, and Ethereum.

How we built it

• Frontend: Next.js 15 (App Router), TypeScript, TailwindCSS v4, Framer Motion (Morphing Pillbar Navbar), Recharts, KaTeX.
• Backend & Proxy: Next.js Server API Proxy Handlers (app/api/facilitator/...) with 10s timeouts and retry logic communicating with FastAPI (backend/).
• AI Engine: Groq SDK (llama-3.3-70b-versatile) for streaming LLM inference.
• Database: SQLite / PostgreSQL with SQLAlchemy for local saved preferences and purchase history.

Challenges we faced

• Ensuring zero mock data while handling network edge cases by engineering a zero-trust Next.js server proxy layer.
• Building a liquid, morphing pillbar navigation bar using Framer Motion layout animations that maintains rock-solid height across device sizes.
• Streaming Markdown tokens while rendering inline and block LaTeX math formulas seamlessly in real time.

• 100% Real API Flow: Zero fake payment timers, simulated graphs, or dummy conversations.
• Sub-Second Finality: Demonstrating 42.5ms settlement latency across 10M+ micro-transactions.
• Apple/Stripe Pure White Aesthetic: Delivering a modern, responsive light-theme UI.

• Mainnet auto-signer SDK for Python and Node.js agent frameworks (LangChain, AutoGen, CrewAI).
