Inspiration

Adding an image instantly makes a piece of content easier to comprehend. And this reflects in numbers as well, posts on X with images get 2x more impressions

This inspired us to create XImagine, it uses Nano Banana to generate images natively in X.

X already has the feature to generate images with grok, but they are rarely used by anyone. Everyone wants to use the SOTA image gen model (Nano Banana), and the results justifies that choice. Hence we have used NB in our backend.

What it does

Generate post ready images natively in X based on the user's tweet, using Nano Banana

How we built it

We have built the extension on top of Plasmo.

We first extract the user tweet from the client side data, then use the Prompt API for generating the image gen prompt, collects user preference for editing style, and then preview the image right in front

What we learned

Prompting for image generation is really tough :)

What's next for XImagine

We will look to acquire some power users, and based on their feedback we will take it ahead.

The plan is to build an extension, that helps in every step of AI assisted content generation.
