Inspiration
My boyfriend struggles to focus on studying amidst high levels of noise or light distractions, while my best friend often faces challenges finding a safe space during panic or anxiety attacks. Recognizing that many others share these difficulties, we view AI as a valuable ally rather than an adversary. With the growing awareness of mental health care and the advancements in technology, we believe we've devised a solution. Introducing Xhale, an XR application designed to help users discover or craft their ideal, peaceful environments for comfort and relaxation.
What it does
This application allows users to find, customize, and create their own safe environments, whether it be a focus room with just a desk and chair, or an ocean view that helps your nerves.
How we built it
After conducting primary research and reviewing relevant literature for secondary insights, we utilized Figma and Bezi as foundational tools to create a visual prototype depicting the envisioned mixed reality environment.
Challenges we ran into
XR is a tricky topic for beginners. The main challenge we ran into was trying to figure out how we could showcase our concept.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Successfully adapting to emerging tools and technologies in the realm of AR and VR.
What we learned
This project helped us gain insights into diverse user needs, focusing on creating conducive study environments, safe spaces for anxiety management, and overall mental well-being. Additionally, we learned to integrate XR technologies effectively, showcasing adaptability and market awareness in mental health care and technology adoption.
What's next for Xhale - personal safe space
The next steps for Xhale - Personal Safe Space include user testing for feedback and enhancing customization, accessibility, and integration with wearable tech for an improved user experience.
