Our primary inspiration came from the cult classic movie Zathura. We were captivated by the film's specific brand of retro futurismthe idea of a house floating in deep space, besieged by relentless aliens the Zorgons, and the feeling of mechanical, tangible danger. We wanted to capture that feeling of claustrophobic defense. We loved the concept of analog space horror where the technology feels heavy, industrial, and bolted together, rather than sleek and holographic. Xenocide Chronicles is our love letter to that aesthetic a frantic battle to hold the line against an overwhelming force. What it does Xenocide Chronicles is a wave-based survival FPS with tower defense elements. The player is stationed at The Outpost, an orbital defense platform located on the fringes of the galaxy. The objective is simple but stressful. The Threat: The Zephyr Spiresa biomechanical alien armada that functions like a hive mind.The Goal You must prevent the Spires from breaching the Outpost's energy core. The Stakes If the Outpost falls, the path to the homeworld, Aetheria, is left unguarded. Players utilize an arsenal of heavy industrial weaponry to blast back waves of enemies while managing the Outpost's failing shield integrity. As the waves progress, the Spires evolve, becoming faster and more resistant to damage.
