Inspiration

An Aeldari god called Cegorach, the Laughing God, from Warhammer 40k that embodies masterful deception and hidden knowledge. I used him as inspo for Kegorak: a security tool that protects your digital ID. For my first hackathon, I wanted to just have fun with different things like that Hacker green screen Aesthetic.

What it does

Kegorak is a local-first identity vault that encrypts, scores, and manages your credentials securely. It features AES-256-GCM encryption, a custom .AADI binary format, real-time password strength scoring, simulated breach monitoring, and a secure "hold-to-shred" deletion mechanic. All wrapped in a responsive, hacker-themed UI with floating animations and audio feedback.

How I built it

I used customtinker to create the frontend and Python’s cryptography library for security then used custom .AADI file format as required by kyxgo for storage. Then I just browsed Reddit and other spaces and asked others for advice on how i should proceed when i was stuck.

Challenges I ran into

Implementing non-blocking UI audio feedback across platforms was tricky, as was carefully structuring the .AADI binary format to keep encryption metadata perfectly synchronized with the payload. I also had a lot of issues with Account creation and Log in areas.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I'm proud of being disciplined enough to start and finish a project for the first time, as well as learning how to create security tools to secure data.

What I learned

I learnt how cryptographic primitives actually work in practice, the importance of secure file serialization, and how to manage state and async updates in desktop applications.

What's next for Kergorak

When I win I'll double down and scale the project to be infinitely better for consumer use with API's such as HaveIBeenPwned, Password Meter and .2FA Authenticator as well as Optional cloud sync with end-to-end encryption. The goal is to evolve Kegorak from a hackathon prototype into a daily driver for privacy-conscious users.
