Inspiration

We were inspired by a simple but powerful idea: curiosity deserves better tools. Traditional education often emphasizes rote memorization and linear learning, but real understanding happens when learners explore, connect, and create. We wanted to build a platform where curiosity becomes the compass, powered by AI and driven by visual, interactive, and collaborative experiences.

WZRD.Edu aims to be that tool—a magical assistant for learners, helping them map knowledge, generate insights, and synthesize what they learn into something uniquely their own.

What it does

WZRD.Edu is a personal learning environment that transforms any topic into an interactive mind map, enriched by AI and driven by user curiosity. Key features include: • 🔍 Visual Knowledge Graphs: Navigate concepts spatially for deeper understanding • 🤖 AI Tutor (Claude 3.5): Personalized explanations and analogies tailored to your style • ✨ Active Learning Tools: Summarize, generate flashcards, create presentations • 🌐 Collaborative Learning: Fork and remix journeys from other users • 📚 Content Synthesis: Convert your exploration into exportable study guides

It’s like having a magical companion that helps you learn anything—on your terms.

How we built it

We built WZRD.Edu using: • React + Tailwind CSS for the front-end, with Framer Motion for dynamic UI • Lucide Icons and custom badges for semantic feedback • Claude 3.5 API for natural language understanding and adaptive generation • Custom Knowledge Graph Engine for real-time concept mapping • Voice + Video Agents (Tavus, ElevenLabs) for human-like AI guidance • Containerized deployment using SLM 20 architecture for scale and modularity

The stack is fully modular, allowing fast iteration across educational, enterprise, and creative contexts.

Challenges we ran into

• Semantic Linking at Scale: Building a system that intelligently connects concepts across domains required careful balancing between LLM-driven suggestions and user agency.
• UX for Spatial Learning: Designing an interface that’s both intuitive and powerful took multiple iterations.
• Real-time Adaptation: Ensuring that the AI tutor adapted in real time to different learning styles without overwhelming the user.
• Content Moderation & Forking: Maintaining content quality in a collaborative environment.

Accomplishments that we’re proud of

• Built a fully functional AI-powered learning universe in weeks
• Created a visually engaging and intuitive front-end experience with zero drop-off in complexity
• Integrated Claude 3.5, ElevenLabs, and Tavus into a unified agentic learning assistant
• Designed collaborative knowledge journeys that are forkable, remixable, and exportable
• Developed a system that truly rewards curiosity over rigid structure

What we learned

• Visual context boosts memory: Users retained more when ideas were spatially mapped
• AI isn’t just a tutor—it’s a co-creator: Learners loved using AI to generate, not just explain
• Collaboration enhances discovery: Forking someone else’s journey often led to deeper engagement
• Education is shifting toward self-directed agency—and the tools need to catch up

What’s next for WZRD.Edu

• 🌍 Classroom Mode: Real-time collaborative knowledge journeys for teachers and students
• 🧠 Cognitive Modeling: Tailor learning paths using user memory, quiz results, and interaction history
• 🎓 Accredited Micro-Courses: Build and certify modular learning experiences via WZRD.Edu
• 📱 Mobile App: Take your mind map anywhere
• 🧩 Plugin Ecosystem: Let creators build mini-wizards, custom topic packs, and learning agents
• 💡 WZRD Lab: A creator hub for educators to share and remix public journeys
