Inspiration

We were drawn to Simon’s Better Creating brief because of his focus on clarity, systems, and minimal design. His black and white aesthetic and structured thinking shaped our direction immediately. We wanted to build something calm, intentional, and genuinely useful for creators who value depth over noise.

The key insight was simple. Most AI tools remember conversations, but not decisions. We wanted to build an AI coach that remembers what actually matters.

What it does

Wyz is a minimalist AI coaching app for creators who want clarity and follow through.

Users complete a short onboarding with their goals and tone preferences, then choose from a focused library of coaches. After each session, Wyz saves three things: current focus, open loops, and the next small commitment.

When users return, the coach continues from where they left off. It feels less like a chatbot and more like an ongoing coaching relationship. The goal is simple: increase focus and reduce noise over time.

How we built it

We built quickly using Claude Code and Cursor for rapid iteration. OpenRouter handled model routing based on speed and availability. RevenueCat powered subscriptions and was seamless to integrate.

We separated memory into two layers. One manages temporary session context. The other stores structured coaching memory such as focus and commitments. This kept the system lightweight while making it feel intelligent.

The interface is intentionally minimal, with strong emphasis on whitespace, typography, and subtle motion to reflect Simon’s aesthetic.

Challenges we ran into

Avoiding a generic chatbot experience was difficult. We wanted structure and continuity without adding complexity.

Designing meaningful memory required experimentation. Storing everything would have been easier, but distilling decisions created a better experience.

We also refined our direction midway after revisiting Simon’s detailed brief to better align with his audience. Balancing polish and time constraints was a constant challenge.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud that Wyz feels focused and intentional rather than overwhelming. The continuity between sessions creates real progression without complicating the interface.

We are also proud of the polished design and smooth subscription integration achieved within a short timeline.

What we learned

Constraints improve design. Limiting features forced us to prioritize clarity.

We learned that memory is more powerful than verbosity. An AI feels intelligent when it remembers the right things.

We also learned the importance of audience alignment and iteration. Refining the product after deeper research made it stronger.

What's next for Wyz

Next, we want to expand personalized tracking and intelligent nudging so the coach can recognize patterns over time.

Our goal is to evolve Wyz into a long term clarity system that helps creators take small, consistent action toward meaningful goals.
