Inspiration

When you are having fun with friends, it's always a bummer when one of you goes missing (even more so if it's you). We wanted to provide a solution to this problem at festivals, outdoor camping, etc. This Can also be applied to different situations and people like people with children or people with family that have a mental illness.

What it does

This Device notifies you when you and your friends get too far from one another and aims to guide you all back to each other.

How we built it

This device was built utilizing esp8266's, small OLED screens, and buzzers.

Challenges we ran into

connecting the device to vscode to upload code, connecting the devices, and figuring out how to use RSSI.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

developing an application for the device, expanding the use cases of the device

What we learned

learning more about micropython, esp's and microcontrollers in general, wifi connections and RSSI, and what you can do with this data

What's next for WYA (Where You At)

we would love to transition to Bluetooth with the esp32, and optimize the code
