Inspiration
I was searching for a service which organizes GTIN/UPC to Product with picture and other details. There was nothing available in market at that time, so I initiated the effort.
What it does
Integrates with various retail feeds and also allow crowd sourcing to map a GTIN number to Product. As a by product, it allows software developers to use the API for free. My intention is to keep this API free forever for software engineers.
How I built it
I started of with very small feeds and then moved on to larger APIs. Currently I have a fully automated feed integration system which aggregates the feeds with minimal to no manual intervention.
Keep It Supper Simple principle. Integrating the API to your application should not take more than an hr.
Challenges I ran into
There are no technical challenges, but there we compliance challenges from business front.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Stable Application API is very easy to use. Keeping the API free for software engineers as intented. Serving millions of products search every few hours.

SearchUPC Marketplace where online products websites can submit their products matching the UPC code for a small fee. Estimating to complete this by end of 2016.
