Inspiration
We were most inspired by the boredom that comes with quarantine. Writer's block and r/WritingPrompts also served as inspiration, and Gigguk's Light Novel Bot and Tom Scott's YouTube Video title generator were what made us interested in OpenAI.
What it does
Our program generates writing prompts based off of a selection of previously popular internet writing prompts. The newly generated prompts should be never-before seen and original.
How we built it
We used OpenAI with Python for the generation of the prompts and HTML and python for the website interface.
Challenges we ran into
Learning OpenAI, executing external Python scripts from HTML, redirecting to website via domain.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Met minimum viable product. Gained hands-on experience with OpenAI and HTML.
What we learned
Executing Python scripts with Django, using the OpenAI API. OpenAI was super fun to play around with and we look forward to working with it in the future.
What's next for Written-Prompts-AI
A better selection system for the currently un-curated AI outputs and better website layout.
