The problem our project solves
Wrong communication, that often affects Institutions, may generate fatal behaviours in an emergency period. Institutional communication should not be unclear, but simple and straight to the point: sanitary operators, companies, and citizens need to understand with ease what they have to do.
While writing, you must pay your best attention to WHAT you say and you have no time nor enough concentration to think of HOW to write.
The solution we provide
Writexp is an innovative online editor which detects in real time sentences and words that should be simplified and tells you how to gain clarity.
Although Writexp Editor uses Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning techniques, is a tool as simple as a normal word editor.
To date, the Editor Writexp is used in Italy by some major organizations and it is available in the Italian language only. We would like to develop Writexp in all of the EU languages to improve the institutional communication also by means of a common linguistic approach.
Current architecture includes:
- Corpus CITPRO: unique corpus of Italian institutional documents (tens of millions of words collected by the founder of Writexp)
- TextPro NLP (Bruno Kessler Foundation, Trento, Italy): the Natural Language Processing gives us automatically annotated text, so that we may found and count problems, and select those of our interest
- Operating Rules (patented)
- Business Intelligence: KPI for text monitoring
- Cloud based or installed onsite
- Does not save files (compliant GDPR). Writers operate through their own browser.
The solution’s impact to the crisis
Writexp saves time for writers, reviewers, and readers.
Our Editor minimizes language difficulties and helps the writers to make clear their content.
People need to understand simply and immediately what to do, how, and when (good practices).
Safe communication is a crucial asset in the lockdown emergency but more in the complexities of the exit plans.
A clear institutional communication will generate coherent behaviours, reducing the rumors of misleading interpretations, even from the press.

In Italy weak communication costs 56 billion Euros per year, not calculating wrong behavior’s costs during and after the crisis.

We will develop a tool for the EU Community that is part of the digital transformation of the communication.
