What it does

Writers capture ideas everywhere: voice memos, half-finished drafts, notes in a dozen folders. Good material gets lost because nobody re-listens to a two-minute memo from March. Writer's Working Archive gathers that material on the NAS into one private, dated, searchable notebook per project, and answers questions such as "what have I written about the lighthouse?" from the writer's own files only.

How it works

  1. It finds new recordings and documents in the folders the user names. If there are none, it says so and stops.
  2. It lists them and asks which to file.
  3. It transcribes the recordings and extracts the key lines of each document, reporting any file it cannot read.
  4. It proposes a project for each item, with a date and a one-line summary, and asks the user to confirm.
  5. It saves each project's notebook and reports what it filed and what it could not place.

Privacy and safety

Everything stays on the NAS, and the local model is the default. The Skill reads only the folders it is given, writes only to the notebook folder after confirmation, and never moves, renames or deletes an original file.

How it was built

It is a Markdown Skill written to the Uliya Skill Development Standard, with each step mapped to a supported NAS capability.

What's next

Testing on a NAS: transcription quality on long or noisy memos, and filing accuracy on real folders.
