Inspiration

Online shopping has completely transformed gift giving. All for the better, with the exception of gift presentation. Only a handful of online retailers offer gift wrapping services. Problem is the service is always bare-bones, featuring one hail-corporate wrapping paper. Gift giving is all about personalization. It's more then what's inside the box, it's also how the box looks! That is what inspired me to build out this 3D present wrapping customizer.

What it does

Wrapfair integrates into SF checkout. Using product carton dimensions, the service builds out a 3D scale model of any item packaging. Then using a WYSIWYG UI, a customer can pick the perfect wrapping and wrapping accessories.

How I built it

Using Tungsten.JS (as SPA framework) and Three.JS (3D engine library).

Challenges I ran into

Exposing product carton dimensions as an API endpoint.

What's next for Wrapfair

Addition of wrapping accessories (bows, ribbons, tags, etc.) to the customizer
Wedding & Shower registry integration.
Ability to use one large custom image as a wrapping paper matrix across multiple presents.
White-label as a CastleGate Fulfillment service.

Would I like to present during the showcase?

YES I would absolutely love to present. Giving the current state of the project, my demo consists of adding items to cart, then proceeding with wrapping customization.
