Inspiration — Meta already built the metaverse. WorldLab proposes building on top of it: a life-like simulated community, running on its own closed-loop network isolated from the public internet, where every new AI model trains and safety-tests for 30–90 days before public release. Each model earns an insurance-backed stamp of approval — liability coverage from an independent insurer willing to take the risk, with the safety guarantee additionally backed by a third-party security company like CrowdStrike. Companies lease the environment per model run; certified models carry annual-premium liability insurance. The simulated city — companies, towns, governments, factories, offices — exists to find vulnerabilities before the real world does.
How built — a WebXR prototype (A-Frame) delivering a complete vertical slice: the visitor enters the virtual city, travels to three test stations (Factory, Office, Street), triggers a vulnerability test at each with a live pass/fail readout, and closes with a certification ceremony where the model receives the WorldLab stamp. Fully hands-first compatible, seated, completable in about five minutes.
Future plans — expand to a full Horizon world with persistent districts, real 30/60/90-day testing tiers, insurer and security-partner integrations, and a pilot program with Meta ahead of the VR Glasses launch.
