🌍 Inspiration
Football unites billions, yet predicting match outcomes remains a mix of emotion and guesswork. I wanted to build an AI‑driven predictor that blends fan passion with real‑time analytics — turning data into excitement ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
⚽ What it does
World Cup 2026 Predictor uses machine learning and probabilistic modeling to forecast match results, player performance, and tournament trends. Fans can visualize live odds, compare team stats, and simulate outcomes — all through an interactive dashboard.
🧠 How we built it
Built on Zerve Cloud for scalable compute orchestration, the app runs on Streamlit, Python, and Plotly for visualization.
Key components:
- Data Science: Poisson distribution models for goal prediction
- Visualization: Plotly Express and Graph Objects for dynamic charts
- Infrastructure: Zerve Cloud + AWS Lambda for deployment
- Frontend: Streamlit dark theme for immersive UI
🚧 Challenges we ran into
- Balancing model accuracy with real‑time responsiveness
- Integrating multiple data sources while maintaining low latency
- Designing a UI that feels both analytical and fan‑friendly
🏆 Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Achieved consistent prediction accuracy across historical datasets
- Seamless deployment pipeline on Zerve Cloud
- Created a visually engaging dashboard that scales globally
📚 What we learned
