Inspiration

As a Christian, I sought to share God's grace by creating a GenAI Bible search app. It aims to build Christian communities, offer advice through God's words, and recommend related literature. Let's spread love and faith together!

What it does

Key Features:

1. Bible Verse Search:

   • Users can search for Bible verses by entering keywords, phrases, or specific topics of interest.
   • FaithFinder utilizes NLP technology to analyze user queries and generate relevant Bible verse recommendations, providing inspiration, guidance, and encouragement.

2. Verse of the Day:

   • FaithFinder offers a daily selection of inspirational Bible verses, curated to uplift and inspire users throughout their day.
   • Users can opt to receive notifications with the Verse of the Day to start their day on a positive note.

3. Book Recommendations:

   • In addition to Bible verses, FaithFinder recommends Christian books available on Amazon related to specific topics, themes, or genres.
   • Recommendations are personalized based on user preferences, reading history, and browsing behavior, ensuring relevance and interest.

4. Topic Exploration:

   • Users can explore various topics and themes within the Bible, such as love, faith, forgiveness, and salvation.
   • FaithFinder provides curated collections of Bible verses related to each topic, allowing users to delve deeper into specific areas of interest.

How we built it

I used Amazon PartyRock to build and test the search

Challenges we ran into

The GenAI tool cannot Amazon's catalog to recommend specific books, so the links and book cover features do not work.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I tried Amazon PartyRock for the first time and was able to create a decent app to connect my faith at work

What we learned

The GenAI tool requires the context to generate relevant results. If the context is missing or not accessible, it may not work

Next Steps:

1. Identify Alternative Data Sources:

   • Research and identify alternative data sources for Christian book recommendations. This may include partnering with Christian publishers, bookstores, or online retailers specializing in Christian literature.

2. API Integration:

   • Explore options for integrating with third-party APIs that provide access to Christian book catalogs. Look for APIs that offer comprehensive book metadata, including titles, authors, descriptions, and reviews.
