Inspiration
Information Technology is a big field today. From onboarding, an employee to the release of an employee is a hectic process to monitor and manage by different teams with a different representations of data and many more. For this reason, we have built the Application - WorkPulse, A Pega Powered Tool which helps HR, managers, and organization academy team to manage employees, whether they are freshers or experienced.

What it does
It helps the organization to onboard employees smoothly and monitor their performance, onboard new projects and manage allotment of employees to the projects, release certain employees, and filter the best employees for a certain project based on their skill set. It also gives a great way to maintain the performance of employees over time-based on every quarter by giving proper feedback for quarters. It also tracks various parameters like top performers and employees that are on the bench or in training. Employees have a view where they can see and enroll for courses. This way it helps multiple entities to work and cooperate for benefit of the organization.

How we built it
We started with gathering the requirements and understanding what needs to be implemented. We first went to understand the problems people in our organization faced, we got the details on that and documented everything to understand all of those properly. Then we moved the focus to data setup as data is the main key of our application. We created different tables and properties, keeping in mind the reusability of the properties and tables. After data setup was done we moved to case type creation where we segregated the processes to onboarding for employee and training feedback, project onboarding, Resource Allotment & Project wise feedback.

Challenges we ran into
Challenges are part of success. We got our share of challenges while progressing from the start of gathering requirements, and understanding what needs to be done. As our application has a lot of data, tracking and maintaining the data was a bit difficult.

Accomplishments that we're proud of
Proud to present an idea that can Solve Problems for organizations by reducing the hassle of maintaining excels and manually tracking the performance of employees. We have automated the process to a great extent by aggregating multiple processes for which people involved have to log in to different systems into one and made things a lot simpler for which we are greatly proud.

What we learned
Most important of all, we learned the thought process, to solve problems, and came to know that the most important thing in building an application is to understand its functioning properly, we need to know what we want and how it can help the users.

What's next for WorkPulse - a progress-tracking application
Including Pega Decisioning Hub for suggesting relatable and best courses for employees and other staff based on quarterly ratings, and encouraging individuals to participate in the organization's activities, which would be listed in the portal. Enable resume download feature based on employee skill set. Better filter facilities for manager while alloting a new employee for project. Release and employee to Bench or Business unit.
