Inspiration

Small service businesses often spend hours figuring out how to fill empty slots, reactivate customers, increase revenue, and manage bookings. Existing software automates individual tasks, but business owners still have to decide what to do, who to target, and how to execute it.

We wanted to build an AI system that could act more like a business operator, turning a simple business goal into an actionable strategy and real-world execution.

What it does

WorkPilot AI is an Autonomous AI Business Operator for service-based businesses.

A business owner can simply say:

“Fill my empty slots this Saturday.”

WorkPilot analyzes the business, identifies opportunities, coordinates specialized AI agents, creates an action plan, and executes approved actions.

It can help with:

Business and revenue analysis Customer cohort and opportunity detection Customer reactivation and growth AI-generated marketing actions Booking management Google Calendar scheduling Customer lead intake AI-assisted appointment booking Audit trails for AI decisions and actions

The goal is to move from “AI that answers” to “AI that operates.”

How we built it

WorkPilot uses a multi-agent AI architecture built around a .NET backend and Angular 18 frontend.

Specialized agents handle different business responsibilities, while an orchestrator coordinates them based on the owner's goal.

The platform integrates with:

Google Calendar SendGrid Twilio EF Core / SQLite

AI outputs are converted into structured action plans containing recommendations, risks, target customers, expected impact, and execution steps.

The owner remains in control and can approve actions before they are executed.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge was moving beyond a generic chatbot.

We needed to design an architecture where multiple AI agents could collaborate toward a single business objective while producing structured, predictable outputs.

We also had to handle incomplete business information, validate AI-generated recommendations, manage real-world integrations, and ensure that automated actions remained transparent and controllable by the business owner.

Accomplishments we're proud of

We're proud that WorkPilot goes beyond conversational AI and demonstrates an end-to-end autonomous business workflow.

A single business goal can flow through analysis, opportunity detection, customer targeting, strategy, approval, outreach, booking, and calendar scheduling.

We also built an AI operations/audit layer so owners can understand what the system recommended and what actions were taken.

What we learned

We learned that the value of AI isn't simply generating a good response.

For AI to become useful in a real business, it needs to:

Understand → Reason → Plan → Act → Measure.

Designing specialized agents, coordinating them dynamically, validating their outputs, and connecting them to real business workflows taught us how much engineering is required to turn AI reasoning into reliable business execution.
