What inspired us? We were inspired by the experience of having to stay at home during the covid-19 pandemic, having to go to gyms under restriction and just not being as physically healthy as we could during the past year. We figured that working outside could be the new norm, and a website to help people plan and find work out places would be a great service.

What does it do? What WorkGen does is that is generates a personalized workout plan according to the personal needs of the users. Depending on how much cardio, strength and time commitment they want to put in, WorkGen creates a work out plan specifically for them. Including runs through out their neighborhood, and exercises they could do in their local parks, All the while teaching the users new workout techniques and new running routes.

How we build it? We build WorkGen through multiple programming languages including python, php, Javascript and HTML

Challenges we ran into: We had a hard time making the website run, it was a lot harder than expected to learn HTML, PHP and Javascript all in one day to create a website with no experience at all. Creating a dynamitic website that updates with the user's inputs was one of the most challenging aspects of this projects, however, we were eventually able to figure out how to figure out how to do it through multiple hours of work and countless trials.

Accomplishments that we're proud of: We are very proud that we were able to create a dynamitic environment where the user's input can change that output of the website.

What we learned: We learned a lot about PHP, Javascript, HTML and just web development in general. We went from nothing next to nothing in the start of the day, to creating a fully functional website by the end.

What's next for Workout Educator: The next step for this website would be to make it more aesthetically pleasing, as we still need to learn CSS for that, but once we can get the looks down, WorkGen would be website that enables everyone to stay physically healthy wherever they are.
