✨ Inspiration Managing household workers is difficult when their skills and experiences aren’t formally documented. Many talented domestic workers struggle to prove their abilities and miss better job opportunities. Inspired by real-life challenges, we wanted to create a simple digital solution to give them recognition and growth opportunities.
💡 What it does NaukriSathi is a Python-based app that acts as a skill passport for domestic workers. It allows them to: Record their skills (cooking, cleaning, childcare, etc.) Track experience and ratings Present a digital profile to potential employers This makes it easier for workers to find better jobs and employers to verify their skills.
🛠️ How I built it Language: Python GUI Framework: Tkinter (for user-friendly interface) Data Handling: CSV/SQLite for storing worker details and skills Version Control: GitHub for project hosting and collaboration Designed clean layouts for simplicity and accessibility.
⚡ Challenges I ran into Building a clean and intuitive UI in Tkinter without advanced design libraries. Managing data storage in a way that is simple but reliable. Making the app look professional and smooth within limited time.
🏆 Accomplishments that I'm proud of Built a fully working prototype app from scratch. Successfully hosted the code on GitHub. Designed the app around a real social impact problem that affects millions. Created a project that’s easy to explain and show in hackathons/university applications.
🔴 Before NaukriSathi Salary is often delayed or miscalculated. No proof of skills or job history. Workers rely on memory or paper notes. Frequent disputes between the worker & employer. Workers remain fully dependent on employers.
🟢 After NaukriSathi Automatic reminders ensure on-time salary. A digital record of skills & job history was created. Simple app, offline-friendly for easy use. Clear records build trust & transparency. Workers feel empowered with proof of their work.
