Inspiration

We were inspired by our own struggles to find collaborators to work on passion projects.

What it does

Our site allows students to create an account to both manage their own projects and search for potential collaborators. Our site searches for buzzwords in the project description as well as in student bios to connect students with similar interests.

How we built it

We used html/css to build the front end and we used PHP to enable backend processes. For our demo, we're hosting on the andrew server.

Challenges we ran into

We're two freshmen and two seniors and all came together very last minute. In collaborating to build the site we ran into some technical problems because of our mixed experiences. Learning the workflow itself to try to push updates to github and of course, time was a big constraint.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We overcame a huge learning curve in communicating about how the front end would work with the backend.

What we learned

We learned how to collaboratively wireframe. We found a good balance of how we could each contribute to the project. We learned how to trial and error with web dev and try to share moments of fun and learning and not take ourselves too seriously.

What's next for Work Well

We hope our site could be built out further to showcase a large number of student projects and grow the user base. We also hope to add calendar functionality to make the process of connecting students more effective.
