Inspiration

Joining new organisations can be a very exhausting and resource-intensive process. For both new joiners and employers. It requires compiling documents, sending emails, scheduling meetings and being prepared for every question brought up by new joiners.

With hybrid work models, it is even more difficult to co-ordinate inductions for new employees.

What it does

Takes the responsibility of providing onboarding

How we built it

Used C# and hosted in Azure as a Web App with an Azure SQL database Uses the OpenAI davinci model for natural language processing

Challenges we ran into

Technical: 1) with a Blazor UI - limited knowledge 2) integrating to Microsoft Teams - discovered you need a Partner Account 3) different iterations for Slack integration - Slack App created but Bot unresponsive.

Logistic 1) Team Member had both power and internet challenges.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

1) We have a workable idea from which to build an MVP 2) We understand the different technologies that would be required to make it work

What we learned

1) Don't be afraid to fail. Do it sooner 2) Give yourselves time limits 3) Online collaboration can be hard

What's next for Yamukela

1) We believe it is a technically feasible idea and are excited to complete it 2) We would love it if RigaTech Girls tested our MVP when it's ready
