Inspiration

I am from India and as an Indian my native language is Hindi because of it my vocabulary is little weak and i frequently search for the meaning of some kind of vocabulary words, but sometimes the I didn't able to understand the word only with the meaning, we sometimes need examples and synonym to help us to understand the meaning. I face this issue a lot and the i decide to create a project that help me and also other peoples to get all the information of the word in one place with a simple interface.

What it does

This project provide the all the related information of a word like anonyms, synonyms and the meaning with a easy to understand examples to help other peoples whose English is weak and they want to improve their English and also their understanding of the new words. There are many applications that also provide the meaning of the words but they not provide the important aspects to understand the word easily and how can we use it.

How I built it

This WordMeaning Dictionary project is a web application that is build with my love and passion to help other people with my skills. I used some web development technologies and language to build this website and they are HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript Language. I integrated an API to give the desire output to the user and take a word as a input. I use a input field that take the input from front-end and then send this word to API to generate some response as quickly as possible.

Challenges I ran into

I face many challenges while building this app specifically while integrating the API. While testing this website I get many errors and sometimes I get output and sometimes not. I put my all efforts to make sure that this website work smoothly and give the desire output to the user that the are expecting. In future I also make sure that this application not generates error.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

After completed and testing this website I feel very pride to myself because I build something that help some other people to take a advantage from it and improve their English level. I also frequently use my website to get the meaning of the word and it is always a pride to use a application that is build by yourself by using the skills that you are learning from the some couple of months and it is also increase my confidence to build something like that put an impact in people's life.

What I learned

While building my WordMeaning Dictionary App i learned to be patient and how to be calm while errors dealings with the errors. I learn the problem solving skill while making the project because there are many errors occur while building and testing and I learn to understand the problem and make a best possible solution of it. This project help me to improve my problem solving approach that is very useful to me for my next projects and it also helps me to understand how the API are works and how can I handle input and output in API integration.

What's next for WordMeaning Dictionary App

In future I making a plan to integrate a voice input field that help users to input words without typing it from keyboard. This feature help the users type their word by speaking and it also help user to improve their accent by pronounce that word. Presently this project is not hosted in web so I plan to host this project in some couple of days. It help user to quickly find this website and take advantage from it.
