Inspiration
A lifelong love for expanding vocabulary led me to crossword puzzles, which proved to be a fantastic way to learn new words. Building on the spirit of these classic puzzles…
What it does
Wordathon is a word-forming game where players create words using a given set of letters. The twist: every word must contain a designated central word, and all words must be at least 4 letters long.
How I built it
Built using Devvit with the React template, and integrated ECharts — a powerful charting library — to display letters in a visually appealing way.
Challenges we ran into
- Registered & started in the late last week & most of the things built over weekend
- Being a solo team member was responsible for end to end development
Note: The project and app were previously named Spellathon but have since been rebranded to Wordathon.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Building Wordathon marks a personal milestone — it's my very first game ever built using React.
What we learned
explored Reddit's developer platform, gamemaker
