Word's First Method to Diagnose PCA

Inspiration

Virtual perception is one of the symptoms of dementia. But people tend to forget this, and not recognize the patient it as dementia patient. We want to build world's first method to diagnose it.

What it does

Our product is a driving simulation that is built in Unity gaming environment (it has great potential to be used in virtual reality environment e.g. Oculus).

How I built it

Unity environment, we build a car simulation. We coded in C# .NET. Absement is a concept that Haiqi Wei developed with Prof. Steve Mann in summer. We found this concept is also helpful in diagnosis of visual perception.

Challenges I ran into

Brainstorming for proper way to compute and generate feedback for diagnosis.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

This is the FIRST PROPOSED WAY to diagnose PCA.

What I learned

Visual perception is "forgotten" symptoms of dementia. And they need help. So we are here!

What's next for Word's First Method to Diagnose PCA

• The next step is validating correlation of absement and PCA.
• Build a more realistic driving simulation as well as other simulation of real environment for the diagnosis.
