What is Wooshy Washy

Wooshy Washy is a smart washing machine that not only cleans your clothes efficiently but also provides you with real-time insights into their status and the time required for each cycle. With its integrated status and time-tracking features, Wooshy Washy is set to redefine your laundry routine, providing convenience and control like never before.

Problems we faced

Unpredictable Wait Times: Lack of real-time information about machine availability and cycle completion can lead to wasted time and frustration.

Machine Malfunctions: Faulty machines might damage clothes or disrupt laundry routines, requiring students to find alternative solutions.

Inspiration

Personal Frustrations: Having experienced the inconvenience of carrying your laundry all the way to the laundry room just to wait for hours for available machines, as well as unexpected malfunctions of the machine, we understand firsthand the frustration that these challenges can cause.

Time Constraints: Juggling classes, assignments, extracurricular activities, and social life leaves limited time for laundry. We recognize the need for a solution that optimizes laundry routines to fit within our busy schedules.

What it does

Feature 1 - The mobile app will show all the washing and drying machines in square-shaped buttons indicated by a number that represents the machine. Eg. W1, W2, W3, W4… D1, D2, D3, D4… For each machine, you can get information about the machine in real-time. Red: In use Green: Available Yellow: Finished (Done but haven't taken the clothes out) Gray: Faulty

Feature 2 - time counter: telling how much time is left before the laundry is done.

Feature 3 - Use AI/ML to predict the peak hours.

How we built it

Mobile Application Interface - We utilised the Flutter framework to design an interface that offers real-time updates on your washing machine's progress. The dashboard provides at-a-glance insights into the current cycle, displaying key information such as machine status ("In Use", "Available", "Finished" and "Faulty") and remaining time. The integration of Flutter's animations adds a touch of interactivity, with dynamic visuals that sync with the machine's operation. The interface is user-friendly and comprehensive which offers a high level of convenience to laundry routine.

Database We leverage the capabilities of Firebase Realtime Database and Firestore Database to seamlessly connect with our mobile application, providing users with real-time updates on their laundry's progress.
