Inspiration

"WOOF" is an app that can be used for monitoring the behavior of your pet. It can give training, health improvement suggestions, and a lot more all in one . The user must upload their trade license number, licensing supporting documents, and contact information in order to register as a seller. To open an account, a buyer needs their pet's name, email address, and password, as well as Food & Accessories, Training & Grooming, Pet Shops & Kennels, and Veterinary Consultancy. In veterinary consultancy, each physician, private clinic, hospital authority will have their own ID number and profile. They will also receive a notice alert so they can reach their patients if something goes wrong. Such a structure will give a boost to our application and will prove to be a prime source of revenue generation as well as help in engaging more users. For promotion, we can suggest nearby pet shops & kennel companies and treatments within an affordable range and earn a commission from them. We are increasing our contacts to get good sponsorship so that we can help roadside animals with free medicine. We are working on developing a collar device that can be used to measure blood pressure and heartbeat for pets , along with GPS and anti-violation alerts.

What it does

There are many pet welfare applications available today, but they can provide only a limited number of options to the owners. It's obvious that pet owners need more choices all in one place right? So here it is, our app "WOOF", which can be used to track a pet's behavior, provide training advice, recommend ways to improve their health, and much more. Our objectives are -

  1. Provide service to 3 kinds of users a. Buyers - who has a pet and need assistance or want to buy a new pet b. Sellers - those who want to sell food/medicine/accessories through our app c. Vet consultants - the doctors/clinics/hospitals merged with our app
  2. Make the life of pet-owners easy, hustle-free and better.
  3. Remind the users time-to-time for giving food, medicine or vaccine so that they will never forget these during their hectic schedule.
  4. Provide a window to buy quality food items from best dealers at an affordable price.
  5. Useful accessories also can be brought through our app from various dealers.
  6. Almost all kinds of medicines will be available in our app and they will get delivered within a short time at the doorstep.
  7. For adopting a new pet, there will be pet-shop suggestions available.
  8. In case an owner is going out of the station and can’t bring the pet along, pet-kennels will take care of that for those days.
  9. Vet consultants will be available 24*7 for any type of emergency and also ready to provide doctor-at-doorstep service.
  10. Clinics & Hospitals will provide service after cope-up with us.
  11. Merchants can sell their items like foods and accessories through our app.
  12. Medicine shops are also welcomed for supplying medicines and vaccines.
  13. We are considering supplying excess foods and medicines to roadside animals through our app.
  14. Alarm generation from uploaded prescriptions for getting timely reminders of vaccination, medicine and so on.
  15. Connection page for users where they can post small videos, pics with their pets and can write how our app is helping them. Also news of any event will be shared in that section and people can also do meetups.

How we built it

The app will be customized for different pet species and according to that different types of suggestions and routines will be provided. At first, the user has to login by providing their name, phone number, address and user type. Now the user can surf through the app and use all its different features like—

  1. If the user wants to sign up as a seller, they must upload their trade license number, license documentation, and contact information. In order to open an account if the user is a buyer, they will need their pet name, email address, and password. If the user is a physician or a private clinic or hospital, they must provide their registration number along with the required document, email address, and password to create an account.
  2. The user can then access their unique user interfaces based on their user type. a) The user home page for Buyer, offers access to a variety of resources, including Food & Accessories, Training & Grooming Centers, Pet Shops & Kennels & Veterinary Consultancy, Medicines & Testimonials, and Alarm System for Pets. Users can easily use the options as per their needs. b) If the user is a Seller, they will visit the seller's home page, select the category they wish to sell in, such as food or medicine, and upload the description and images of their product at an affordable price. Additionally, they will receive an alert notification so they can see their order. c) In veterinary consultancy, each physician or a private clinic or hospital authority will have its own ID number and profile. Additionally, they will receive a notice alert so they can reach their patients.

Challenges we ran into

Through our tiny effort, we hope to enhance the beauty of this planet for animals. We will now work with three different types of users so that doctors can easily reach a large number of patients and offer services in exchange for reasonable fees. Additionally, the pet owners will benefit as they can avail food, medication, and accessories for their animals at affordable prices. They also gain from training and pet grooming for their animals. By putting everything in one location, we are building relationships with a large community of pet owners and assisting them in their area of expertise. Further, going forward, we will collect excess food and medicines from door to door and reuse it to make the lives of animals living by the roadside easier. One of the observations in “WOOF” is the collaboration with businesses, NGOs, Pet welfare associations and the offering of fair prices on foods and accessories along with discounts, coupons, scratch-cards, etc. A framework like this will benefit our application and serve as a key means of generating income. It will also increase user engagement. The cost to integrate with our app will include consultation with the best veterinarians in the globe. In exchange for promotion, we will recommend nearby private clinics and hospitals, training facilities, pet stores, and kennel firms that are within your budget.

What's next for WOOF

In order to provide free medicines for roadside animals, we are expanding our contacts in order to secure good sponsorship. Additionally, we are putting effort into developing avian and aquatic pet facilities. In order to involve more people in our act, we are striving to treat farm animals like cows, donkeys, goats, sheep, horses, and pigs. We are working on creating a collar gadget that can be used to monitor a pet's heart rate and blood pressure, and any deviation from the normal range will sound an alarm to the owner and will add a GPS tracker to track them. In conjunction with the Central Government, we will also announce the openings for the Indian Army Pet. Owners who wish to send their pets there may apply. So this is our project, hopefully we will succeed in our small efforts through it and make it easy for all "WOOFs" and "MEOWs" to live.
