Inspiration

I feel that non-native English speakers lack vocabulary skills while communicating in English. I've personally experienced this problem. At times, I come across people who speak certain words that I don't understand. I want to improve my vocabulary, I want to learn a new English word every day. But, I can't go and pick up a dictionary to look for a new word every day, it's exhausting and I'll probably give up after a couple of days. I need something better, something more flexible and productive.

What it does

Woodiee sends a "word of the day" notification along with the meaning of the word and an example sentence to subscribed users.

How we built it

Woodiee is entirely built on cloud service. It is programmed in the python programming language and uses blockchain technology to send notifications to users.

Challenges we ran into

Unable to send notifications at first
Unable to send notifications to everyone
Unable to make it available online
The process of subscribing to the service is a little complex
