Inspiration

Inspired by the “UP AND OUT” chapter in Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, we asked: what if every elevator button opened a world you could influence?

What it does

Up & Out turns your phone into a glass elevator. Each stop opens onto a world-model-generated floor, where you use your camera to complete real-world quests and change what happens next.

How we built it

Reactor H3 generates the animated encounters, while ElevenLabs voices the characters. Node.js and Express manage the journey and rewards. Codex supported development, Higgsfield helped create visual assets and VEED was used to edit test and demo footage.

Challenges we ran into

Choosing and scoping the idea, unreliable Wi-Fi and working within provider credit limits.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We authored 28 distinct rooms and connected their generated stories to visitors’ real-world actions.

What we learned

We learned how to prompt time-sensitive interactive video and combine the sponsor tools into one live experience.
