Inspiration

Our friend recently came back from a trip and explained her frustrations during her travels. We wanted to target issues similar to what she experienced: pricing, convenience, and difficulty finding places she wanted to go.

What it does

Given a location the traveler wants to go, a budget (economy, flexible, luxury, unlimited), and the amount of days of the trip, WanderWise makes an itinerary for the traveler; complete with breakfast, attraction, lunch, attraction, and dinner.

How we built it

With next.js, react, HTML, and CSS.

Challenges we ran into

The main problem we had was all of us were total beginners. We didn't know anything about website development, therefore, everything we built with this project was completely new to all of us. We struggled tremendously with the time restraint, and had to work up until the deadline with no sleep in order to have a semi-completed project. Unfortunately, we made an algorithm that works, but didn't finish implementing it with our design, so our website shows the design without complete functionality.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We now are familiar / introduced with new technologies that we have not heard about prior to this hackathon. These include all the languages we used, figma, and even canva for the slides.

What we learned

Along with the technologies we learned, we learned about fundamental team communication (playing to our strengths, distributing the work), and that the real prize was the friends we made along the way.

What's next for WanderWise

We want to finish developing our website, and completing the functionalities we planned out. From there, we want to learn how to deploy our website.
