Womy is a software that works in Telegram. This software allows women who live in underrepresented communities to manage their money through budgeting and saving tools.
Problem
Many women in rural areas and those working in the informal sector encounter significant barriers to digital literacy due to the lack of resources. As they seek to earn a living each day, they often lack the knowledge and skills needed to manage their finances and keep track of their money effectively.
Solution
Our software uses Featherless AI and ElevenLabs' voice AI to guide users in their native language with an empathetic and human tone that sounds approachable. For women who are illiterate, ElevenLabs produces clear audio recordings summarizing group agreements and payment dates, sent via Telegram. It's a "financial mentor" that explains complex terms like interest rates and loan terms in a conversational manner. We aimed to build financial management into a supportive experience, providing women with financial independence and tools.
Inspiration
Many women in underrepresented areas encounter significant barriers to digital literacy due to the lack of resources. As they seek to earn a living each day, they often lack the knowledge and skills needed to manage their finances and keep track of their money effectively. We wanted to bring an accessible tool that allows female individuals to empower themselves financially. It directly addresses the credit access gap in underserved communities.
What it does
Womy is a voice that guides women in tracking their expenses and budgeting income. By taking a photo of the receipt, it will automatically extract the amount, date, and merchant to keep track of costs. How we built it

What's next for Womy
We want to make an actual app of Womy and expand its financial tools.
