Inspiration

Because computer science is mainly a male dominant field, we want to provide opportunities for women to feel valued and empowered. As a team consisting of three women itself, our goal is to connect fellow female coders to inspire and help each other.

What it does

WomenWhoCodes is a web page that contains links to a forum, learning how to code resources, as well as women targeted internship, research, and conference opportunities.

How we built it

The website was built using HTML, Python, Flask, Javascript and CSS.

Challenges we ran into

Working with CSS and self-teaching new HTML and CSS concepts.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Self-learning advanced HTML and creating our first website aimed to help women.

What we learned

The ability to teach ourselves new coding languages and input small pieces into our project individually and as a team. We also improved our time management and task prioritization abilities given the time constraints and unlimited learning resources.

What's next for WomenWhoCodes

WomenWhoCodes can be advanced by adding new functions to the website, such as individual anonymous chats with a professional and creating a project category, where women can share their coding projects with each other.
