Inspired by the rising need for fast, accessible, and reliable safety tools for women, Women_Safety_Toolkit was built as a browser-based platform that works instantly without needing any installation. It provides SOS alerts, live location sharing, fake call simulation, panic mode, and real-time evidence recording—all developed using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern browser APIs like Geolocation, Audio, Camera, LocalStorage, and PWA service workers. While building it, we faced challenges like handling media permissions, creating a realistic fake call UI, ensuring offline functionality, and designing a stress-friendly interface. We’re proud of achieving a smooth, mobile-optimized, offline-capable safety assistant that can genuinely help users during emergencies. Through this project, we learned how to maximize browser capabilities, design ethically for vulnerable users, and build responsive interfaces that work even in low-connectivity situations. Next, we aim to add geofencing alerts, automatic cloud backup for evidence, multilingual support, and AI-driven safety insights to make Women_Safety_Toolkit even more powerful and reliable for real-world use.
