Inspiration

We walked into our CSE 150 class in August, and our eyes widened at the fact that we were two of nine girls in a filled lecture hall. Wanting to pursue and excel in our own careers in the tech industry, we wanted to create an interactive and helpful tool that can inform others and encourage people to take action to inspire other women to join the intriguing, yet male-dominated field of STEM.

What it does

Our project informs users about the gender gap in STEM and encourages other girls and women to pursue the field through an interactive website that features a multiple choice quiz, data visualization, and more.

How we built it

We used Glitch, an online platform for web development, to create our website and coded it using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

Challenges we ran into

We experienced some initial difficulty in using JavaScript to incorporate data into our website, but we overcame this by collaborating with each other and learning from online resources.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of creating an interactive and visually appealing website. As women in STEM, we are proud of creating a tool for other people in the same position as us.

What we learned

We furthered our web development skills, especially in JavaScript.

What's next for Women Warriors in STEM

Our plan is to continue inspiring other women to pursue their passions for STEM even in the face of adversity.
