Problem Statement:
In today's world, women's safety is a critical issue that requires immediate attention. Women face various threats, including harassment and assault, especially in remote or unsafe locations. There is a pressing need for a portable, efficient, and cost-effective safety device that can provide instant assistance and share the user's real-time location with trusted contacts during emergencies.
Proposed Solution:
This project aims to develop a smart women safety device using Raspberry Pi 5, GSM module, GPS module, and a push button. The device is compact, easy to carry, and designed to send an SOS alert with the user's real-time location to predefined contacts when the push button is pressed. It operates as follows:
Push Button Activation: In case of an emergency, the user presses the button, which triggers the system.
Location Tracking: The GPS module fetches the current location of the user.
Emergency Communication: The GSM module sends an SMS containing the user's GPS location to predefined emergency contacts.
Raspberry Pi 5 Control: Acts as the central processing unit, integrating the sensors, modules, and communication system to ensure seamless operation.
Key Features:
Real-time Location Sharing: Ensures accurate and immediate location updates.
Emergency Alert System: Sends distress signals to trusted contacts instantly.
Portable and Affordable: Designed to be lightweight and cost-effective for mass deployment.
Scalability: The device can be upgraded with additional features like voice recording or integration with police helpline systems.
Impact:
This project addresses the critical issue of women's safety by providing a reliable tool to alert loved ones and authorities during emergencies. It empowers women, enhances their confidence, and contributes to creating a safer environment.
