Inspiration
Although there is much education on women's rights and safety, we still think there's some invisible discrimination and implicit bias that other genders have toward women (and may influence the school learning environment). Thus, we want to create a website to help students and teachers know more about women's rights.
What it does
Our project offers all the students and teachers a chance to reexamine their attitudes toward feminism and women’s rights. The education system should provide not only professional knowledge to students and offer ethical and quality education. This test acts as a moral education, offsetting the defect of regular school education. This system makes students more likely to obtain a wholesome personality, minimizing sexual inequality and discrimination. It is a website that helps students and teachers gain more knowledge on women's rights and safety.
How we built it
- We built it by using HTML code.
Challenges we ran into
- Because this is our first time using the HTML code in VSCode, we have many problems with it. But we solve it by watching online HTML tutorials.
- We didn't have much time for (learn to) coding, so the website is very concise. But we think a detailed outline may substitute this flaw.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- We made a detailed outline
- We built a simple website, and hopefully, we'll complete it.
- We made a PowerPoint to introduce our project
- Most of the steps in our project went smoothly
What we learned
We learned that group cooperation is really important. Coding writing and presentation making should be split for the large workload, and it is necessary to listen to others’ opinions. And also, we learned that the workload of feminism education is really large. Although students like us are already trying to popularize sexual-equality thoughts, a sexual-equal society should be realized with everyone’s efforts.
What's Next for Women's Safety in Educating Environment
For our next step, we hope to make our website more functional. And we definitely would like to design the webpage more, to look better. Also, we will make the quizzes (one of our basic functions) more specific. Because it only contains four questions now, the result would be more accurate if we could make it to 20 or more questions.
