Women in Tech App

Inspiration

We wanted to spread recognition for the women who made the technology we use today possible.

What it's about

Women in Tech is an app that teaches you about 10 amazing women who went unrecognized for their achievements in technology. Despite that, they continued to pursue their passion and make strides within the STEM field. Although some women are now getting recognition, many passed away without it. All they knew was that they were doing something brilliant and important.

How we built it

We used the MIT App Inventor to create a gallery of women who tell their own wonderful stories of how they've contributed to technology.

Challenges we ran into

We couldn't figure the fastest and most efficient way to get our project done in time. There were many issues getting the project audio to change along with each page and we overthought the process in which we would need to complete the program but then after a bit of research we were able to find a simple and effective solution.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

WE MADE IT! Our first app was a success!

What we learned

You need to tell a computer exactly what to do. If you say, "next page", it might change the page but not the audio.

What's next for Women in Tech

In the future, we hope to add more women to our gallery and spread more news about these hidden treasures.
