Inspiration: Being a woman working in the tech field is very stressful. We got inspiration from one of the keynote speakers and we decided we wanted to make a web application/forum that allows women who work in the technology field to vent, help others or talk about their interests.
What it does: It allows women who work in tech to feel like they're a part of a community of women are like them and are going through what they are going through. Users are able to create posts to vent, ask for help or talk about their interests. There will also be sub-chats that lets the users talk about programming languages or non-technological related things.
How I built it: My teammates and I built it using Python.
Challenges I ran into: We wanted to be able to make a web application but we didn't have the knowledge in any other programs except basic Java and Python. My team and I ran out of time and we decided to create a project using what we know.
What I learned: I learned a little bit more about Java.
What's next for Women in Tech Chat: Hopefully when we gain more knowledge on different programming languages like Java, C++ we would be able to develop an actual web application
