Inspirational Create a government-backed or public-private funded scheme to provide starter kits (ponds, juveniles, feed, water pumps, etc.) for at least 50% of trained beneficiaries monthly.

Starter kits can be scaled based on performance and commitment.

  1. Access to Low-Interest Equipment Loans Partner with microfinance banks and agricultural finance institutions to offer equipment loans with flexible repayment plans, tailored for aquaculture startups.

Government guarantees or interest subsidies can reduce the financial burden.

  1. Cluster-Based Cooperative Models Group trained individuals into cooperatives or clusters based on their locations (e.g., LAP14 cooperative group). Provide shared access to land, ponds, hatchery units, and other equipment through these clusters.

Clusters can also improve access to markets and inputs through bulk purchasing.

  1. Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) Involve private sector players (aquaculture companies, NGOs, exporters) in supporting incubation programs for trained youths and women. These partnerships can offer mentorship, equipment leasing, and offtake agreements to ensure sustainability.

  2. Digital Platform for Equipment and Funding Access Develop a digital platform where trained beneficiaries can apply for available equipment, connect with sponsors/investors, or lease tools from others. This creates transparency, fair distribution, and visibility into available resources.

What it does

Solution Our platform offers:

  • Blockchain-based smart leasing for equipment
  • AI tools for personalized feeding schedules, disease alerts, and market insights
  • Digital identity verification to unlock services
  • Microloans without collateral, based on immutable training records

How we built it

A mobile app build in away that will allow the following 1- Digital Identity Generator (Simulated) Once user submits verified certificate, assign a unique ID (auto-generated) You can display: AGR-2025-0001

2- AI Farm Assistant (Simple Logic-Based Tool) Use logic flows in Glide or Adalo to show:

Example Output: “Your catfish are 3 weeks old, averaging 25g. Feed 4x daily with floating feed. Monitor water temperature closely.”

3- Apply for Equipment Lease Form to select equipment (e.g., tanks, aerators, feeding trays) Choose lease duration (1 month, 3 months) Simulate approval process with a “Pending” “Approved” status field

4- Apply for Microloan Form: Input loan amount & purpose Automatically check if digital ID & training certificate exist

Challenges we ran into

Funding Ask Seeking $50,000 to:

Developer for the Application

Procure shared equipment for leasing

Launch marketing and onboarding

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • We have gotten our MVP: check it out https://tubular-hotteok-4eb2fb.netlify.app/

  • survey form testing via Lagos trained women -R and G farm has been registered with CAC

  • 2000 + potential users in the next 2026

  • Cooperative partnerships in view

What we learned

Resilient and never give up on the project until the livestock farming system is developed.

What's next for Women in Agritech

We need funding of $50,000, we’ll pilot with 1,000 women, boosting incomes and food security scalable worldwide.

This proposal offers a robust, adaptable framework to empower women farmers using technology. By overcoming systemic barriers, it promises economic growth, gender equity, and sustainable agriculture across developing regions
