Women for the Environment

The inspiration behind our website was sustainability. We wanted to combine our passion for coding with our mutual interest in preserving the environment; from there our website was born. Our logo on the top right, 'WE6', was part of our initial brainstorming session; it stands for the 'Women for the Environment, 6'.

As our project progressed, so did our mission and our end goal for the site. Ultimately we wanted to share resources for people interested in being environmentally conscious.

I worked on streamlining the consistency of the site. the home page with all the featured women and their linked pages - the images - wanted to get the carousel going but encountered image sizing limitations of Wix -hence I chose the stack -random gallery. I made sure to cite Time magazine and the illustrator who created the original images.
I also worked on all accessibility for the site but realized needed the premium to actually post the accessibility statement - but overall I learned a lot about that. Could not get permissions in time to incorporate the api we wanted . Would love to spend more time to get to really get to know the velo and Wix platform - definitely loved learning that.

I worked on the Get Started page in our Navbar. By adding a motivational paragraph along side button links to get started with positive ways to be environmentally conscience.
