Inspiration

We were inspired to create the Wolfie Market project for the hackathon because of the struggles that we, as students, have faced when it comes to buying and selling items on campus. The current methods for buying and selling items often involve long and confusing processes, leaving students with a lot of unused and overpriced items. We wanted to provide a safe, efficient, and easy-to-use platform for Stony Brook University students to buy and sell their unwanted items, such as textbooks, electronics, furniture, and more. With Wolfie Market, students can now make some extra money while also providing their peers with affordable and quality items. It's a win-win situation that we believe will have a significant impact on the Stony Brook University community.

What it does

Wolfie Market is a dynamic platform that connects Stony Brook University students to buy and sell items within the community. Users can easily create listings for items they wish to sell, such as textbooks, electronics, furniture, and more. Potential buyers can then search and filter listings using keywords and tags, making it easier to find exactly what they're looking for. All transactions are securely handled within the campus, providing peace of mind to both buyers and sellers. With its user-friendly interface and robust functionality, Wolfie Market is poised to revolutionize the way students buy and sell items at Stony Brook University.

How we built it

We used HTML, CSS, and Javascript as well as Bootstrap

Challenges we ran into

Some challenges we ran into were:

  1. Authenticating users when signing up and logging in.
  2. Creating a scalable database to handle an influx of users ## Accomplishments that we're proud of We were really proud of creating a dynamic site with an interactive UI and what the final product can bring to the campus. ## What we learned We learned how to use github efficiently to work well as a team. ## What's next for WolfieMarket The next step is to create a service sections where students will be able to sell there skills to help other students as well make some extra cash.
