Inspiration
Our inspiration came from working women around us. We spent weeks asking what problems they face while getting into jobs. Countless ideas were suggested and in the end we decided that the last idea that was suggested by one of our female team members, was the best solution to a common problem.
What it does
WoJoCo helps women find more suitable jobs for them. Users write their portfolios about what they ask for in a working environment. Then they choose a company and compare their portfolios with reviews of that company. WoJoCo gives a feedback on if they are suitable or not, a percentage on their suitability and pros/cons of working there.
How we built it
We used the Groq API to compare reviews and portfolios. It gave a list consisting of 4 items: 0, 1 or 2 as in no, maybe or yes; a percentage of suitability; a list consisting of pros; a list consisting of cons. After porting our code to Streamlit, we added extra code that displayed the list content. Then we added a basic login page. After realising that using txt and csv files were not enough for our project we switched to MongoDB. This switch was crucial since it simplified the entire system and made it faster/safer overall.
Challenges we ran into
The biggest challenge was porting to web and navigating through files. No one in our team knew full-stack development so we decided to make the project entirely on python by using Streamlit. The pain that came with complex file structure was solved with MongoDB. It was basically the saviour of our project.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Our second biggest accomplishment was completing an entire project process in a month with systematic working. We thought that it would be impossible for an inexperienced team and we would just try our best. Our biggest accomplishment was learning how to work as a team. Our coordination increased significantly in mere weeks. Once a group of people became an actual team in a month.
What we learned
We learned how to use Groq's chat completion feature, hosting a website using Streamlit and managing a MongoDB database. These 3 were things that we could have only imagined a month ago. Our progress was definitely visible. If you compare our last project with this one you can see how cleaner WoJoCo is.
What's next for WoJoCo
We plan on learning full-stack development, switching the frontend to html completely. After doing that our next goal will be sharing our solution to the entire world. We believe that this product can have a huge impact on many lives.
