Inspiration

WMFire lacked a website where users could gain helpful resources and information about WMFire and other important organizations.

What it does

The site has a lot of resources in one place for users to quickly and easily find the help they need.

How we built it

We built the website using Next.js framework, typescript and html to create components on the site, and css to style and arrange the components.

Challenges we ran into

Web development was new to us, and figuring out the html and css was a tedious process. After deciding on a design for the site, we had to learn how to implement each feature like the navigation bar along the top.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud to have a functional website after only a few days of work.

What we learned

We learned a lot about web development process and typescript. We also learned more about WMFire and their goals.

What's next for WMFire Website

We would like to better divide the resources on the site and add more buttons at the top of the page for easier navigation to the resources. Additionally, the resources could be organized more clearly.

We would also like to add translations for the site with buttons along the top of the page to easily switch between languages.

The code base needs to be cleaned by removing unneeded files and images. We also need to add easy-to-follow documentation for adding / removing resources listed on the site, changing images, and updating contact information / social media handles.
